Bill Veghte

Executive Chairman, Turbonomic

Bill Veghte is Executive Chairman of the Board of Turbonomic. Bill brings over 25 years of experience in technology & business leadership to Turbonomic. He joined the Turbonomic board in May 2016, having served as Chairman of our Technology Steering Council since January 2015. Most recently, Bill served as CEO of SurveyMonkey. Prior to that he spent 5 years in a variety of leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard during its turnaround including as COO, EVP/GM of the HP Enterprise Group and GM of HP SW. Prior to HP, Veghte spent 19 years at Microsoft in a variety of senior roles including running the Windows business, the Windows Server business and leading Microsoft’s North American Sales Marketing, and Services organization. He is currently on the board of SurveyMonkey and Xero and served on the board of AppAssure prior to their acquisition by Dell in 2014. Bill earned a BA in East Asian Studies from Harvard University.

Gary Reiner

Operating Partner, General Atlantic

Gary Reiner is an Operating Partner at General Atlantic where he focuses on investing in and actively partnering with high growth technology companies. In addition to joining the board of Turbonomic, Reiner serves on the boards of Fortune 50 enterprises such as Citigroup and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, as well as fast-growing technology firms like AppDynamics, Box, and Seismic. Before joining General Atlantic in 2010, Reiner served as CIO of General Electric, where he led M&A, Sourcing, IT, Operations, and Quality. Prior to GE, Reiner was a partner at Boston Consulting Group, where he drove strategies and operations improvements for high-technology businesses. He holds a B.A in economics from Harvard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Benjamin Nye

CEO, Turbonomic

Ben joined Turbonomic (formerly VMTurbo) as CEO in 2013 after serving as a member of its board and leading Bain's initial investment in Turbonomic in 2011. Ben joined Bain Capital Ventures in 2004, and presently serves as Managing Director and Co-Managing Partner. Prior to joining Bain Capital Ventures, he was a SVP at Veritas Software. Prior to Veritas, Ben was COO and CFO of Precise Software Solutions, where he helped build Precise from a $10MM revenue private company to a $100MM revenue public company prior to its sale to Veritas for $600MM. Earlier in his career Ben was a Principal at Allied Capital, a public investment company, and he also worked in the U.S. Treasury Department for Treasury Secretaries Lloyd Bentsen and Robert Rubin, and as a consultant for Mercer Management Consulting. Ben attended Harvard College and Harvard Business School, where he graduated with honors.

Shmuel Kliger

Founder & President, Turbonomic

As President of Turbonomic (formerly VMTurbo), Shmuel is currently focused on product and technology strategy, as well as strategic partnerships. Previously, he founded and served as CEO of Turbonomic. Prior to founding Turbonomic, Shmuel served as Vice President of Architecture and Applied Research in the EMC CTO Office. Prior to joining the CTO Office, Shmuel was the Chief Technology Officer of EMC’s Resource Management Software Group. Shmuel Kliger joined EMC with the acquisition of SMARTS. Shmuel Kliger was a Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of SMARTS. As CTO of SMARTS Shmuel Kliger was responsible for setting SMARTS vision and strategy, managing SMARTS R&D organization, as well as Professional Services, Technical Support and Technology Partner Development. Prior to joining SMARTS, Shmuel was a member of the Distributed Systems Software Technology department at IBM Research developing middleware technologies. Shmuel also served as a senior researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel, and Manager of Technical Support Services for International Business Software in Israel. Shmuel holds a B.S. in mathematics from Bar Ilan University, an M.Sc.and a Ph.D. in computer science from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel.

Jack Sweeney

CEO, SevOne

Jack is a board member of Turbonomic (formerly VMTurbo) and several other technology companies, CEO of SevOne and Executive Chairman at AppNeta, previously serving as President & CEO of the company. Jack has a deep experience as a technology entrepreneur and investor. Previously, he was Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions at EMC. Prior to EMC, he was President and C.E.O. of Network Intelligence, Inc. where he led the organization to the successful acquisition by EMC in July 2006. Before this, Jack was General Partner at Prism Venture Partners, where he made significant investments in data security markets including GeoTrust, Ingrian Networks, and Silverback Technologies. Previously, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at EPiCON Inc., Stargus, and Bell Atlantic Network Integration. Jack also served as the Vice President of Sales at Bell Atlantic and was instrumental in building the division's business initiative and development. He has also worked as the National Sales Manager at Wang Laboratories' PC Systems Division and has held various marketing and management positions at Unisys.

Peter Bell

Senior Advisor, Highland Capital Partners

Peter is a Senior Advisor at Highland Capital Partners specializing in technology investments across all stages of company growth. Before joining Highland, Peter was Managing Director and founder of Stowe Capital, LLC, which specialized in providing capital and management expertise to emerging growth companies. Prior to establishing Stowe Capital in 2002, Peter was the co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of StorageNetworks, an information storage software and services company. Under his leadership, Peter took the company from pioneering concept to over $120 million in annual revenue in three years and closed six rounds of equity capital financing, totaling over $700 million, including a successful IPO in June 2000. Peter began his career at EMC Corporation. During his tenure he held positions in marketing, operations and sales and played a key role in building and managing the Open Storage Group at EMC, a major growth engine for the company.

Ben Holzman

Managing Director, Bain Capital Ventures

Ben is a Managing Director of Bain Capital Ventures, focusing on investments in software companies including: Turbonomic, Rapid7, SevOne, ObserveIT, Sysdig and AppAssure. Previously, Ben was Vice President of Sales Operations for Iron Mountain, an information protection and storage services company, where he managed sales strategy, compensation, and sales-oriented CRM and business intelligence systems. Before that, Ben was a venture investor with Fidelity Ventures, focusing on software and technology-enabled businesses. Ben also has experience as a consultant at McKinsey and Company in a variety of industries and worked in Corporate Strategy at Microsoft.

Matt Jacobson

General Partner, ICONIQ Capital (observer)

Matt Jacobson is a General Partner at ICONIQ Capital investing in enterprise software/SaaS and ecommerce/mobile companies. Prior to ICONIQ, Matt held operating roles at Groupon and investing roles at Battery Ventures and Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV). Matt’s investments include Sprinklr, kCura, Pluralsight, Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA), Uber, DocuSign, Flipkart, Honest Company, Red Ventures, Groupon (NASDAQ: GRPN), HomeAway (NASDAQ: AWAY), Warby Parker, Intercom, Koudai, Automattic (WordPress), Campaign Monitor, Fastly, Turbonomic, Netskope, Greensky Financial, Apttus, Blackline Systems, Wayfair (NASDAQ: W), Everyday Health (NASDAQ: EVDY), Yesware and Smartling.

Dave Fachetti

Managing Director, Globespan Capital Partners (observer)

Dave Fachetti is a Managing Director and has been part of the investment team of Globespan Capital Partners since the firm's inception. He focuses primarily on investments in enterprise targeted technology infrastructure companies. Prior to Globespan, Dave was a Principal of JAFCO Ventures, where he focused on enterprise software investments. Prior to JAFCO, Dave was at Family Education Network (“FEN”) where he held the positions of SVP of Sales and Marketing and SVP/GM of FEN’s distributed content management software business. Before joining FEN, Dave was at Trans National Group where he held several senior management positions including, SVP of Business Marketing, VP of Business Development, and VP/GM of Canadian operations. Dave began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Dave received an MBA, with honors, from Boston University and a BBA, with honors, from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and is a CPA.
