Turbonomic and Microsoft: Maximizing the Public Cloud

2018 is slated to be the year that public cloud further permeates the market in a massive way. Forrester predicts the public cloud market to generate $178B dollars this year, and that over 50% of all global enterprises will not only use but rely upon public cloud. As public cloud becomes baked into the DNA of enterprise systems and mission-critical applications it will be imperative for organizations to properly manage this new frontier.

Turbonomic is committed to helping customers navigate their journey to, and optimization of, hybrid cloud. This requires organizations to make critical decisions about where workloads should run (on-premises or in public cloud) and how to optimize cloud resources to avoid overspending by millions. Workload automation is critical to helping organizations truly unlock the elasticity of cloud. It is capable of intelligently placing and sizing workloads in the cloud and, once there, automatically adjusting cloud consumption based on the SLA’s and real-time demand profiles of workloads. This approach ensures that applications are running at a world-class level while ensuring that organizations only pay for what they need and use.

This approach has led to Turbonomic earning “Co-Sell Ready” Status through the Microsoft One Commercial Partner Program. Microsoft requires “Co-Sell Ready” ISV’s to provide customer references that demonstrate successful projects, meet a performance commitment, and pass technology and sales assessments. This new status empowers Turbonomic and Microsoft to safely accelerate our joint customer’s Azure migrations and, once in the cloud, optimize their experience. Turbonomic and Microsoft sales force’s worldwide will collaborate on targeted customer opportunities.

So, how does Turbonomic deliver the best application performance, at the lowest cost all while maintaining compliance policies across public and private clouds? The platform first builds a model of an organization’s hybrid cloud estate, all the way from the load balancer, representing the resources, to the demand on applications. Advanced real-time analytics understand the components of the applications, the IaaS or containers they might be running on, and the different PaaS services they might be consuming. This understanding provides a unique ability to tie the applications and VMs back to IaaS options available in order to make the right decision, for the right workload, at the right time. Turbonomic is API driven and deploys as an agentless, lightweight VM in Azure or in any private datacenter.

Turbonomic is uniquely positioned to help organizations intelligently and safely migrate to Azure and once in Azure, manage their IT estate at scale through workload automation. We are thrilled for the opportunity and excited to see what 2018 holds for Turbonomic!
