“We avoided $250,000 in spend on server hardware within the first 6 weeks of running it in our production and disaster recovery sites.”

Team Lead, Technical Services, First Canadian Title

Company Overview

First Canadian Title (FCT) is one of Canada’s leading insurance companies. FCT’s goal is to provide their customers with a new approach to real estate. To achieve this goal, they have developed a number of innovative products and services, including residential and commercial title insurance services, residential refinance programs for lenders, valuation services, and default solutions.

FCT’s production systems are more than 80% virtualized, with over 800 virtual machines. First Canadian Title determined they needed a solution to help them utilize their infrastructure more efficiently and better plan for the future.

After deploying VMTurbo Operations Manager, FCT staff were blown away by what they found:

  • FCT saved $250k in hardware costs within the first 6 weeks with VMTurbo
  • Enabling them to achieve an ROI in less than 3 weeks
  • VMTurbo helped FCT to increase resource utilization by nearly 60%

FCT found that VMTurbo was significantly superior to competitors in its time to value, customer engagement and comprehensive planning, as well as in terms of centralized cross-domain management and automation of control.

Modeling was a key aspect for FCT’s success. “Modeling has provided us insight on how to reduce the server infrastructure,” said Carter, “but maintain the same quality of service for the hosted applications and systems.”

Carter also appreciated how VMTurbo lives up to its hype. “VMTurbo does the job that is marketed and described by the sales staff,” Carter concluded. “No surprises and it works great.”

Based on the value First Canadian Title achieved so quickly, Carter rated his likelihood of recommending VMTurbo as 10 out of 10.
