Earlier this week we welcomed special guest, Mayor Thomas Roach of White Plains, NY to our White Plains office for a team lunch and presentation by our Founders. During this event, our founders Shmuel, Danilo and Y.Y gave an overview of our company, our technology and why we chose White Plains for one of our office locations.
First up was Turbonomic Co-founder and President, Shmuel Kliger. He explained to the Mayor how the company came to be and mentioned how our first office location was actually a stone’s throw away from White Plains – in Valhalla NY. As we expanded and grew, we made the choice to move our New York location to White Plains for easier access to the train system for our employees who bounce between our Manhattan location and our White Plains office.
A Thriving Location
We then handed the mic over to Mayor Thomas Roach. He thanked us for choosing White Plains for our office location as the city continues to thrive. We discussed the number of companies that are flocking to this location, such as Jägermeister, Dannon and Pepsi Co.
He went on to explain the special city enhancement projects that are underway and about to begin. Some of these included; a $92M renovation of the train station that resides right outside our office, a full makeover to the old mall which is a couple blocks away, a new greenway addition next to our office which will host various forms of entertainment, and of course the newly launched bike share program! In addition to new transportation, White Plains is now hosting a summer concert on June 19th – check out details here. If you’re a food lover, be sure to check out the twice weekly farmers market right on Court Street!
I can’t forget to mention that we also made Mayor Roach an honorary Ace Certification.
This is only a few of the great new improvements to the city of White Plains, and Turbonomic is proud to be a pillar tech company within this community. If you’re interested in a career at Turbonomic White Plains, check out our careers page.
